1.7 Performance:  The end of third paragraph reads: "Typically there is a considerable difference in performance, with simple string comparison being about 5 to 10 times faster then generating sort keys and then using a binary comparison."  The part "5 to 10 times faster thEn" should be "5 to 10 times faster thAn".
